3 TIPS to Reduce Stress When Buying a Home

CONGRATULATIONS to my wonderful client and new homeowner...

Kudos to Mr. Hill for accomplishing his goal of home ownership!

Here are 3 takeaways from his experience that will save you a lot of headache...

1) Choose an agent that is a good fit for you and your needs.

Things to consider:
-Is the agent available to work with/around my schedule? If you need to look during the evenings and weekends and that doesn't work for your agent, that will be a huge problem.

-Is the agent full-time? If they aren't, will they have the time to devote to your search. In addition, will they have the expertise needed to negotiate the deal and monitor all aspects to ensure you get to closing?

2) Know what you want.

Here is a short list I help all my clients establish. Keeping this in the forefront of your mind will help you avoid getting caught up on homes that aren't truly a good fit and reduce your chances of experiencing buyers remorse.

3) Have a time frame.

For example, if you know you want to be moved into your new home by October 31st, you should shoot to be under contract no later than September 15th if your lender's processing time for your loan is 30-45 days. Depending on the market inventory, competition, and other factors, it could take you 1 week to a month or more to find the right house and get an accepted contract on it.
